The Wm Michael Barnes ’64 Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering, College of Engineering at Texas A&M University invites applications for part-time and/or full time, open rank academic professional track (APT, non-tenure) positions at the assistant lecturer, lecturer, senior lecturer, instructional assistant professor, instructional associate professor, instructional professor, associate professor of practice, and professor of practice level with teaching expertise in industrial and systems engineering. This is a 9-month academic appointment, and the possibility of an additional summer appointment contingent upon need and availability of funds, beginning as early as Spring 2023. The successful applicants will teach primarily at the undergraduate level in support of the development of the undergraduate program, including the new BS in Data Engineering; collaborate in instructing writing and communication, advise and mentor undergraduate students; and participate in relevant aspects of the department’s activities. QUALIFICATIONS
For appointments at Associate Professor of the Practice or Professor of the Practice level, applicants must have, at the minimum, an earned master’s level degree or at least 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline for professor of practice level titles. We will also consider applicants with a bachelor’s degree and significant professional experience.
For appointments at Assistant Lecturer, Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, Instructional Assistant Professor, Instructional Associate Professor, or Instructional Professor level, applicants must have a masters or doctoral degree in a closely related engineering or science discipline.

In the Wm Michael Barnes '64 Department of Industrial & Systems Engineering, many of the 27 tenured/tenure-track faculty and 16 teaching-focused faculty hold a number of national distinctions, including the Frank and Lillian Gilbreth Industrial Engineering Award, the Albert G. Holzman Distinguished Educator Award, Fellows of the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers, Human Factors and Ergonomics Society, American Society of Mechanical Engineers, and American Society for Engineering Education, and Editor-in-Chiefs. The department has strong and vibrant research programs in Advanced Manufacturing, Data Science, Human and Health Systems Engineering (Human Factors and Ergonomics), and Operations Research. The student population is comprised of more than 900 undergraduate students (sophomore to senior level) and more than 350 graduate students.
