Rybinski Engineering is looking for a technical expert to provide credibility and oversight for our engineering and planning products. The position requires a love of the trade and skill in explaining technical work to others. Our senior engineers/planners are our project managers' go-to resources for answers to a wide range of questions. What methodology should we use? Who else do we need to round out our team? How long will a task take? What are potential landmines, and what are the opportunities to shine? What are our recommendations? Our senior engineers/planners either have the knowledge needed to keep tasks moving forward or know where to find the answers.

Transportation program facilitation
Traffic and intelligent transportation system design
Data-driven transportation planning
Traffic engineering training

Ability to travel to client sites with same-day notice within the tri-state area of Maryland, Delaware, and Pennsylvania (required)
Bachelor of science in civil engineering, urban planning, or other transportation planning (required)
Related master’s degree desired
Professional Engineering (PE) license or American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification (required)
Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) certification desired
7 years’ relevant experience (required)
Valid driver’s license (required)
Special expertise in specific areas, demonstrated by certifications, awards, publications, presentations, or client praise. Relevant niches include traffic impact studies, traffic flow theory, data analytics, data processing, data visualization, data validation, traffic signal timing, intelligent transportation systems technology, traffic alternatives analysis (including measures of effectiveness), traffic control, lighting, traffic plans, specifications, and cost estimates
Effective written and oral communication skills
Background in related computer engineering or computer science
Experience with Rybinski Engineering clients (e.g. MDTA, DelDOT, PennDOT)
Telecommuting is allowed.
